USB Design Verification Senior Engineer
Role Summary
Join Qualcomm's hardware engineering team to plan, develop and execute design verification for high-speed USB controller IP. The role focuses on building UVM verification environments, running simulations, analyzing coverage, debugging failures and working with design, firmware and architecture teams to close verification goals.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include block- and system-level verification of USB controller IP and driving verification closure.
- Develop and execute test plans for USB controller IPs (USB3.2 Gen 2x2, eUSB2V2, USB 2.0).
- Build and maintain UVM-based verification environments for block and system-level DV.
- Perform functional coverage analysis, debug failures, and drive closure of verification metrics.
- Collaborate with architecture, design, firmware and cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive verification.
- Integrate VIPs/IPs and validate interfaces within Qualcomm DV flows.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.
- 3β6 years hands-on experience in digital design verification, preferably with USB or other high-speed serial interfaces.
- Strong expertise in SystemVerilog and UVM.
- Scripting experience (Python, Perl, TCL) for testbench automation.
- Experience with simulation tools such as VCS, Questa, or Incisive and debug tools like Verdi or DVE.
- Familiarity with USB protocols (USB3.x, USB2.0, Type-C) and experience integrating Synopsys VIPs/IPs.
Nice-to-have / preferred:
- Experience with low-power verification, clock-domain crossing, and assertion-based verification.
- Exposure to formal verification and coverage-driven methodologies.
- Prior experience with Qualcomm DV flows and platform-specific tools.
- Strong analytical and communication skills; proactive problem solving.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics or related engineering field (commonly listed with 2+ years' hardware engineering experience), OR Master's degree (M.E./M.Tech or MS) in relevant fields (commonly listed with 1+ year experience), OR PhD in a related field.
