UFS/SSD Validation Engineer
Role Summary
Join Micron's Automotive SSD Validation team to develop and execute validation strategies for automotive SSD products. The role focuses on verifying firmware, hardware, and system-level behavior to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance for automotive use cases.
You will work with firmware, hardware, architecture, product engineering, and quality teams to identify product risks early, implement automated test suites, analyze failures, and support product qualification and release readiness.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include developing validation methods, automating tests, and supporting qualification:
- Develop and maintain validation methodologies, test suites, and automation frameworks for Automotive SSD functionality, performance, reliability, and compliance.
- Design and execute known-box, grey-box, and system-level validation tests across the product lifecycle.
- Collaborate with firmware, hardware, architecture, and product engineering to translate requirements into validation coverage.
- Analyze test results, perform root cause analysis, and drive issue resolution with cross-functional teams.
- Build automation tools and test infrastructure using Python and other scripting/programming languages.
- Validate SSD behavior under automotive use cases and stress conditions (performance, power management, error handling, endurance, reliability).
- Use AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate test development, analysis, and debugging.
- Support product qualification and release readiness consistent with automotive quality expectations.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and capabilities; preferred items noted separately.
- Programming experience in Python and/or C for test automation and tooling.
- Understanding of software, firmware, or hardware validation methodologies and test development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; experience with failure analysis and debugging.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to work in a global, cross-functional environment.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
- Experience with AI-assisted development, automation, and validation tools.
- Nice-to-have: knowledge of SSD architecture, NAND flash technology, storage protocols (NVMe, PCIe, SATA, UFS), and automotive quality/process standards.
- Nice-to-have: familiarity with automotive standards and methodologies such as ASPICE, ISO 26262, or Functional Safety.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
