UCIe Application Engineer, Sr Staff

Role Summary

Senior applications engineer responsible for supporting customer integration of Synopsys Universal Chiplet Interconnect Express (UCIe) IP into ASICs and SoCs. The role works with customer engineering teams and internal R&D to ensure correct IP configuration, integration, verification, and silicon bring-up.

Experience Level

Senior β€” minimum 10 years of experience in ASIC design, verification, or applications engineering, especially at advanced process nodes (10nm/7nm/5nm/3nm).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include technical guidance, integration reviews, training, and feedback to product teams.

  • Guide customers through integration of UCIe IP into SoCs and system designs, resolving technical and process issues.
  • Advise on IP configuration, simulation, synthesis, floorplanning, STA, and DFT strategies.
  • Perform in-depth integration reviews at key SoC milestones to validate IP performance and compatibility.
  • Deliver training, workshops, and technical presentations on UCIe specifications and integration best practices.
  • Collaborate with Synopsys R&D to produce application notes and technical collateral.
  • Support pre-sales technical activities, demos, and responses to technical inquiries.
  • Provide field feedback to R&D for product improvements and participate in internal design reviews.
  • Support simulation, FPGA/board bring-up, and silicon debugging efforts during validation phases.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items listed separately.

  • Extensive hands-on experience with mixed-signal and high-speed interface design and integration.
  • Strong expertise in ASIC front-end and/or back-end implementation, including simulation, synthesis, floorplanning, and DFT.
  • Deep familiarity with EDA tools and methodologies; experience with P&R, physical verification, and signal/power integrity is highly valued.
  • Proven ability to debug and troubleshoot silicon, FPGA, or hardware bring-up issues.
  • Experience with Die-to-Die interconnects and high-speed protocols; familiarity with PCIe or CXL is a significant advantage.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for technical presentations and customer interactions.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
