Turing Design Verification Principal Manager
Role Summary
Lead and manage the design verification effort for complex Turing IP at Qualcomm's Bangalore engineering site. The role combines technical leadership of verification strategy, hands-on oversight of verification execution, and people management to ensure delivery of high-quality silicon.
Experience Level
Senior. Typical experience guidance from the posting: Bachelor's +8 years, Master's +7 years, PhD +6 years of relevant hardware engineering or design verification experience.
Responsibilities
The principal manager will define verification strategy, run verification programs, and lead a team to deliver verification objectives on schedule.
- Set verification strategy and goals for Turing IP across IP and SoC integration levels.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of verification engineers and technical leads.
- Oversee development of verification plans, testbenches, and coverage closure activities.
- Coordinate simulation, emulation, FPGA prototyping, and post-silicon bring-up/debug.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with design, architecture, validation, and software teams.
- Track program schedule, identify risks, and ensure milestones (including tape-out) are met.
- Recruit, develop talent, and promote verification best practices and tools.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and leadership experience required for the role.
- Proven experience in ASIC/SoC design verification and delivery of complex silicon projects.
- Practical expertise with verification methodologies and environments (e.g., SystemVerilog, UVM) and commercial simulation/emulation flows.
- Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills; experience with FPGA prototype and silicon debug is desirable.
- Proficiency with scripting and automation (for example, Python, Tcl, shell) to build and maintain verification infrastructure.
- Demonstrated experience managing engineering teams, mentoring engineers, and driving cross-functional programs to completion.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and program management skills.
- Nice-to-have: exposure to formal verification, performance/power verification, or verification of CPU/NPU/GPU-type IP.

From the posting: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of hardware engineering or related experience; OR Master's degree in those fields with 7+ years; OR PhD in those fields with 6+ years.
