TSE SSD Test Engineer
Role Summary
The engineer will develop, validate and optimize SSD test programs for new product introduction and high-volume manufacturing to ensure product quality, yield and test efficiency. The role works within test engineering and manufacturing teams to improve test coverage, automate processes, and reduce test time and cost.
Experience Level
Entry-level (fresh graduates welcome). Prior experience in SSD/NAND testing, factory start-up, or test program transfers is advantageous but not required.
Responsibilities
Accountabilities include delivering test programs and supporting manufacturing readiness.
- Develop and maintain test programs for Micron SSD products in high-volume manufacturing.
- Design and validate test programs during NPI/start-up phases to verify new products and technologies.
- Optimize test programs to reduce test time and manufacturing cost.
- Automate test engineering processes by writing scripts and tools.
- Expand and improve test coverage to ensure outgoing product quality.
- Work with product, equipment, and manufacturing teams to improve yield and equipment efficiency.
- Coordinate with test capacity and production teams to meet output targets.
- Develop and monitor process and engineering metrics for stability and effectiveness.
- Prepare test fixtures, diagnostics, specifications and procedures for new products.
- Debug failures, identify root causes, provide engineering feedback, and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements

Must-have: Strong interest in software development and good programming skills; experience with or willingness to use languages such as Python, C, C++ or Perl.

Must-have: Experience or strong interest in writing debugging test programs and developing automation solutions for testing.

Nice-to-have: Familiarity with AI/ML, generative AI tools, or AI-assisted software development and ability to leverage AI/data analytics to improve engineering productivity.

Nice-to-have: Prior experience writing test programs for NAND/SSD or system-level testing.

Nice-to-have: Experience managing test program transfers to subcontractors/outsourced manufacturing partners.

Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related technical field.
