Job Title

Topological Qubit Device Engineer

Role Summary

Member of Technical Staff role within Quantum Technology Solutions focused on development, simulation, fabrication, and characterization of topological qubit devices for scalable semiconductor-based quantum systems.

The engineer will translate device physics and materials concepts into manufacturable device designs, work with process and integration teams, and execute low-temperature electrical characterization and TCAD-based modeling to guide technology development.

Experience Level

Mid-level — typically requires around 5+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor process or integration engineering.

Responsibilities

Hands-on technical responsibilities to develop and qualify topological qubit devices and related circuitry.

  • Develop and support topological quantum devices, read-out and control circuitry.
  • Perform device physics analysis and modeling with emphasis on cryogenic/low-temperature behavior.
  • Develop and run TCAD simulations for device structures, materials interactions, electrostatics, and quantum transport effects.
  • Design device layouts and test structures to support fabrication and characterization.
  • Define and execute electrical characterization plans (DC, RF, cryogenic) and analyze results.
  • Apply statistical process control and data analysis to monitor performance and drive process optimization.
  • Plan and execute DOE to evaluate process–device interactions; contribute to yield learning and root-cause analysis.
  • Follow Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements in all activities.

Requirements

Minimum technical skills and experience required; preferred items listed separately.

  • 5+ years experience in semiconductor process, integration, or device engineering.
  • Practical experience with device physics analysis, low-temperature measurements, and electrical characterization (DC/RF/cryogenic).
  • Experience using TCAD or similar simulation tools to model device structures and transport.
  • Ability to design device layouts and test structures for manufacturability and characterization.
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC), DOE, and data-driven process optimization.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and ability to communicate technical results across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Travel approximately 10%.

Education Requirements

Required: BS or MS in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. Preferred: PhD in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
