Job Title
ASIC Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Design and lead verification of complex VLSI/ASIC components and platforms. The role provides technical leadership across design, verification and testing activities and partners with internal and external development teams to deliver reliable production and prototype ASIC solutions.
Experience Level
Mid-level β typically 6β10 years of experience in VLSI design, verification, or implementation.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include technical leadership of verification efforts and delivery of VLSI solutions.
- Lead project teams of electronic/VLSI engineers and internal or outsourced development partners through all stages of VLSI development (design, validation, testing).
- Define and review architecture and logic design; ensure designs meet technology and development standards.
- Develop and maintain verification environments, simulations, and testbenches using hardware description languages and verification methodologies.
- Analyze design performance and test results; drive fixes and improvements to meet product quality and cost targets.
- Integrate new technologies and tools into design and verification flows to improve efficiency and capability.
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and technical direction to less-experienced engineers.
- Participate in selection and development of future technical leaders within the organization.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items listed separately.
- 6β10 years experience in VLSI design, verification, or implementation with demonstrable project contributions.
- Proficient in Verilog/SystemVerilog and experienced with UVM-based verification methodologies.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, PERL, or TCL and programming in C/C++.
- Strong fundamentals in digital logic, computer architecture, and VLSI principles; expert analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with EDA and FPGA tools and typical VLSI design flows.
- Ability to review designs for compliance with technology and development guidelines and to provide actionable feedback.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and executive-level reporting.

Nice-to-have: Specman knowledge; patents or publications in VLSI/hardware; prior leadership of multi-disciplinary hardware projects.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Coursework or demonstrable experience in VLSI design is expected.
