The Principal Test Engineer — Security and Provisioning
Role Summary
Responsible for defining, developing, validating, and deploying secure provisioning flows on ATE for semiconductor manufacturing. Own the manufacturing execution of security lifecycle transitions, eFuse/OTP programming, fuse readback and validation, secure debug control, device identity provisioning, and production guardrails across wafer sort, final test, SLT, and high-volume manufacturing.
Collaborate with Design, DV, Security Architecture, Firmware, Product Engineering, and Manufacturing to ensure secure, manufacturable provisioning and release processes. No relocation package provided.

Responsibilities
Main responsibilities include defining and executing secure provisioning strategies on ATE and ensuring robust production controls.
- Own end-to-end ATE provisioning strategy: lifecycle state transitions, secure boot enablement, device identity, debug lock/unlock policy, and production fuse programming.
- Design manufacturing-friendly fuse and provisioning flows: write/readback/verify, margin reads, error handling, retry limits, binning, audit logging, and clear pass/fail criteria.
- Develop and validate Advantest 93K test methods, SmarTest patterns, digital patterns, datalogging, and production flows for provisioning and post-provisioning integrity checks.
- Partner with DV and design teams to validate provisioning sequences, security blobs, fuse programming models, lifecycle transitions, and negative/error scenarios before silicon execution.
- Define production controls and documentation to prevent over-fusing, incorrect lifecycle transitions, partial or duplicate programming, wrong-blob usage, and unauthorized debug enablement.
- Support wafer sort, final test, SLT, and HVM release activities and cross-functional debug across silicon, ATE, firmware, security, and design teams.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.
- 10+ years in semiconductor manufacturing, ATE test development, product engineering, production test, or silicon bring-up for complex SoCs or advanced devices.
- Hands-on experience with Advantest 93K and SmarTest 7/8: test development, digital patterns, STIL/pattern generation, test methods, datalogging, and production integration.
- Experience with eFuse/OTP/non-volatile fuse programming, fuse controllers, lifecycle controllers, JTAG indirect access, readback/verify flows, and margin validation.
- Familiarity with security provisioning flows: secure debug states, device provisioning, key/certificate/blob handling, secure boot enablement, DICE/attestation/Root-of-Trust or equivalents.
- Ability to read fuse maps, security registers, and access paths (JTAG/DAP/APB/AXI) and to define manufacturing access restrictions and traceability.
- Proven cross-functional execution and communication with Design, DV, Security Architecture, Firmware, Product Engineering, and Manufacturing teams.
- Strong understanding of wafer sort, final test, SLT, HVM release processes, production quality controls, and data integrity.
- Nice-to-have: experience with RSE, Caliptra, provisioning appliances, or similar secure manufacturing infrastructures.
