Testchip Design & Implementation Intern (Jan-Jun 2027)

Role Summary

Internship within the Testchip Design & Implementation (TD&I) team at GLOBALFOUNDRIES Singapore, focused on researching and prototyping practical AI, agentic AI, generative AI and automation solutions to improve knowledge management and engineering workflows. The role requires engagement with engineers, solution exploration, and documentation to inform future implementation decisions.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship for current students; no prior professional experience required.

Responsibilities

Support defined project goals by researching, evaluating, and documenting AI and automation approaches to improve the TD&I team’s knowledge access and workflows.

  • Research and identify opportunities to apply AI and automation to knowledge management and engineering workflows.
  • Contribute ideas and recommendations for AI-powered knowledge management solutions and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with engineers to gather requirements, assess options, and refine implementation approaches.
  • Document findings, prepare regular updates, and present insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Perform assigned tasks safely and follow Environmental, Health, Safety & Security policies.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications and logistical requirements for the internship.

  • Must be in good academic standing.
  • Available to work at least 40 hours per week for the duration of the internship (Jan–Jun 2027).
  • Ability to work onsite in Woodlands, Singapore for the internship period.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience or interest in programming (examples: Python, R, C++, JavaScript, SKILL, TCL, PERL, SVRF).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, CoPilot).
  • Prior internship or co-op experience, leadership in projects or competitions, and project management skills.
  • Strong interest in applying AI tools to improve productivity and decision-making; good written and verbal communication.

Education Requirements

Actively pursuing a Diploma, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, or a related accredited technical field during the internship period.
