Job Title

Testchip Design & Implementation Intern (Jan–Jun 2027)

Role Summary

Intern on the Testchip Design & Implementation (TD&I) team in Woodlands, Singapore. The intern will research and prototype AI, generative AI, agentic AI and automation solutions to improve knowledge management, workflows, and insight extraction from the team's knowledge base.

The role involves collaboration with engineers, evaluating practical solutions, and documenting findings to support future implementation planning.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship for current students (diploma/undergraduate/graduate). Suitable for candidates with little to no professional experience.

Responsibilities

Support defined project goals by researching and evaluating AI and automation approaches and communicating results.

  • Research and identify practical AI/automation opportunities for knowledge management and workflow improvement.
  • Collaborate with engineers to gather requirements and assess solution options.
  • Contribute recommendations for digital transformation and AI-powered knowledge tools.
  • Document methods, experiments and findings; present regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Perform activities in a safe and compliant manner, following Environmental, Health, Safety & Security procedures.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications and working conditions.

  • In good academic standing.
  • Available to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship period (Jan–Jun 2027).
  • Strong collaboration and written communication skills; able to document and present technical findings.
  • Ability to work effectively with engineering teams and to navigate ambiguous problems.

Preferred skills and experience.

  • Familiarity with programming (Python, R, C++, JavaScript, SKILL, TCL, PERL, or SVRF).
  • Experience or interest in AI, generative AI, automation, or Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, CoPilot).
  • Prior internship, co-op, or project experience; demonstrated leadership in projects or competitions.
  • Basic project-management skills and an interest in applying AI to improve productivity and decision-making.

Education Requirements

Actively pursuing a Diploma, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field through an accredited program during the internship period.
