TEST SOLUTIONS ENGINEER
Micron TechnologyJob Title
Test Solutions Engineer
Role Summary
Develop, debug, and maintain test programs and automation for High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) and DRAM devices. Work with R&D and manufacturing teams to qualify test hardware, optimize test algorithms, and support new product introduction (NPI).
Role involves test software and hardware development, root-cause analysis of test failures, statistical validation of programs, and cross-site collaboration to improve yield and reduce test cost.
Experience Level
Mid-level. No explicit years-of-experience requirement provided in the posting.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities include designing and delivering production-ready test solutions, validating test equipment, and supporting product launches.
- Develop new tests and test algorithms for HBM/DRAM covering software, hardware requirements, defect coverage, characterization, and test time optimization.
- Implement test programs using Python and C/C++ on automated test equipment and release programs to manufacturing.
- Lead pre- and post-silicon tasks and support new product introduction (NPI).
- Design and validate test automation and electrical qualification of new test equipment and tools.
- Independently debug test issues, identify root causes, and coordinate solutions across teams.
- Perform statistical analysis and validation to justify program quality before release.
- Evaluate yields and quality with global teams to ensure compliance with product data sheets.
- Provide timely support for experiments to improve yield or capacity and report tactical/project status.
- Drive process and cost-of-test improvements and support multi-site development efforts.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in the role.
- Practical experience in electrical engineering related to memory devices and test hardware.
- Knowledge of digital systems and digital logic for DRAM or HBM architectures.
- Proficiency in Python and C/C++ for test program development; experience with Unix/Linux terminals.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills applied to test programs and hardware.
- Ability to perform statistical data analysis and validate test program quality.
- Experience leading testing efforts, coordinating cross-functional teams, and supporting NPI.
- Familiarity with semiconductor device operation, manufacturing processes, and yield evaluation.
- Fluent English communication for multi-national, cross-functional collaboration.
- AI proficiency: demonstrated use of Microsoft Copilot, GitHub/Open Code Copilot, and AI-enabled engineering tools to improve productivity and automate tasks.
