Responsible for developing and owning test solutions for NAND and managed NAND products, supporting new product startup, validation, yield improvement, and manufacturing test firmware. The role works across test engineering, design verification, process/integration, and failure analysis teams to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include designing test flows, validating new products, improving yield, and developing firmware and automation for manufacturing tests.

• NAND probe and back-end testing
  • Improve probe test coverage and quality; own probe test flow and sign-off of probe test program releases.
  • Use in-house engineering equipment for product characterization and electrical failure analysis.
  • Develop test algorithms to improve testing efficiency.
• New product startup and development
  • Support new product startup and yield improvement efforts.
  • Support design verification and circuit analysis using CAD tools and Verilog simulations.
  • Work with wafer fab process/integration to resolve process-related defects and recommend design fixes.
• Functional and design validation
  • Design test algorithms and develop test programs to validate NAND features and commands using high-speed tester hardware.
  • Analyze failures from evaluations and automate program development and work processes with scripting.
• Product yield enhancement
  • Identify root causes of low yield through systematic analysis and perform electrical/physical failure analysis.
  • Use statistical tools and cross-functional collaboration to drive yield improvement projects.
• Managed NAND (MNAND) and SSD-related work
  • Develop MNAND test strategies and understand 3D NAND defect mechanisms and system error recovery.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing firmware for SSD testing and optimize firmware for test coverage and efficiency.
  • Perform electrical failure analysis across qualification, high-volume manufacturing, and customer returns; use data parsing and analysis to improve yields and test times.

Requirements

Core technical skills and experience expected for this role.

• Must-have:
  • Experience with NAND/3D NAND device testing, probe testing, or similar memory test engineering.
  • Experience developing test programs and test algorithms for high-speed testers.
  • Proficiency with scripting and automation for test program development (e.g., Python, TCL or equivalent).
  • Experience with CAD tools and Verilog simulations for design verification.
  • Experience in electrical failure analysis, data parsing, and statistical data analysis for yield improvement.
• Nice-to-have:
  • Experience with managed NAND (MNAND) or SSD manufacturing firmware development.
  • Familiarity with wafer fab process/integration and cross-functional yield improvement work.
