Test Product Engineer

Role Summary

Develop and maintain test solutions to ensure the quality and reliability of semiconductor products throughout the product lifecycle. Support test program and hardware development, yield improvement, product characterization, failure analysis, and new product introduction while collaborating with design, quality, and manufacturing teams.

Experience Level

Entry-level — Fresh graduates or candidates with less than 2 years of experience in semiconductor test engineering or product engineering.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, debug, and optimize test programs for ATE platforms (e.g., Teradyne, Advantest) to meet test coverage, throughput, and yield targets.
• Define test requirements and develop test hardware (load boards, probe cards) for characterization and production testing.
• Perform yield analysis, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to improve yield and cost efficiency.
• Conduct product characterization across temperature and voltage conditions to validate performance and reliability.
• Support failure analysis by providing test data and assisting in identifying failure mechanisms.
• Participate in NPI activities: test planning, program bring-up, and production ramp-up support.
• Prepare technical documentation, test reports, and yield analyses.
• Drive continuous improvement in test methodologies, processes, and equipment utilization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Design, Product Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing).

Requirements

Core technical skills and experience required:

Must-have

• 0–2 years of experience in semiconductor test engineering, product engineering, or related roles (fresh graduates welcome).
• Proven ability to develop test programs on ATE platforms (Teradyne UltraFLEX, Advantest 93000 or similar).
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python or similar scripting languages for test automation.
• Familiarity with statistical data analysis tools (e.g., JMP, Spotfire) for yield and characterization.
• Experience with test hardware design and debug (load boards, probe cards).
• Understanding of semiconductor device physics and digital/analog circuit design principles.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Nice-to-have

• Prior exposure to DFT, DPM concepts, or production test environments.
• Experience supporting NPI or production ramp-up activities.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
