Test & Measurement Systems Architect
Role Summary
Lead AMD's long-term strategy and technical engagements within the global Test & Measurement (T&M) market. Act as the primary technical advisor to strategic customers and translate market and customer requirements into AMD product, platform, and ecosystem priorities across adaptive computing, FPGA, AI, and x86 technologies.
Position sits in AMD's Embedded and Adaptive Computing organization and focuses on semiconductor test, wireless and network test, instrumentation, and related markets. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include defining strategy, driving customer architecture engagements, and influencing product and ecosystem development.
- Define long-term market and technology strategy for Test & Measurement across semiconductor test, wireless test, network test, instrumentation, and adjacent markets.
- Identify technology inflection points, competitive dynamics, and customer requirements to influence AMD silicon, software, IP, and platform roadmaps.
- Serve as AMD's technical advisor to strategic T&M customers; engage with CTOs and engineering leadership on system architecture and roadmaps.
- Lead system architecture reviews, technical strategy discussions, and long-range planning with customers and internal product teams.
- Define differentiated solutions using CPUs, adaptive SoCs, FPGAs, AI engines, and software platforms; develop reference designs and platform strategies.
- Establish and lead ecosystem partnerships with software vendors, system integrators, instrumentation providers, and technology partners.
- Support technical aspects of strategic bids, RFQs/RFPs, and customer escalations to secure design wins and expand AMD content in customer platforms.
- Represent AMD at industry conferences, standards bodies, and customer forums; produce technical thought leadership and contribute to IP generation.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, domain experience, and interpersonal capabilities required to perform the role.
- Must-have: Extensive industry experience in Test & Measurement, instrumentation, semiconductor test, communications test, aerospace/defense, industrial automation, or closely related markets.
- Must-have: Deep system-architecture expertise, including signal processing, embedded systems, and heterogeneous compute architectures.
- Must-have: Practical experience architecting solutions using CPUs, FPGAs, adaptive SoCs, AI accelerators, GPUs, or custom ASICs.
- Must-have: Strong knowledge of high-speed interfaces and networking standards such as PCIe, Ethernet, JESD204, and CXL.
- Must-have: Familiarity with embedded software/firmware, Linux and real-time operating systems, and common development toolchains.
- Must-have: Proven track record influencing product strategy, driving roadmap decisions, and delivering customer-facing architecture leadership.
- Must-have: Strong communication and presentation skills for engagements with executive and technical customer stakeholders.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with software-defined instrumentation, AI-assisted test methods, data analytics, and standards/consortia participation.
- Nice-to-have: Experience leading distributed technical collaborations and co-development programs with partners and vendors.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical field (as stated in the posting).
