Test Maintenance Technician
Role Summary
Support and sustain Final Test (FT) operations in a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing environment by maintaining test equipment, ensuring stable test performance, and supporting product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
The role is based in the Kulim manufacturing site and works closely with Test Engineers and production teams to troubleshoot hardware, perform preventative maintenance, and support yield improvement activities.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Early-career. The position accepts fresh graduates and candidates with relevant maintenance or production experience; no specific years of experience required.
Responsibilities
The technician performs routine and corrective maintenance on ATE test systems and related handlers, supports failure investigation, and maintains test documentation.
- Perform daily, monthly, and periodic (3/6-month) preventative maintenance on ATE testers, handlers, and contactors.
- Clean and replace consumables such as contactor pins, sockets, and indexers.
- Calibrate test system instruments (voltage sources, digital pins, PMUs) on a routine basis.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and thermal hardware issues in the test cell.
- Support Test Engineers by correlating failures and gathering data for root-cause analysis.
- Work with engineering to implement process improvements and resolve yield issues.
- Participate in failure analysis and root-cause investigations.
- Prepare and maintain test-related documentation and reports.
Requirements
Core technical skills and production-fit behaviors required for reliable test maintenance support.

Must-have: Solid understanding of electronics and basic mechanical principles; strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; attention to detail and adherence to procedures; ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced production environment.

Must-have: Experience with preventative maintenance, calibration, and basic instrument checks.

Nice-to-have: Familiarity or proficiency with ATE platforms (e.g., UltraFLEX, V93K, T2000) and handlers (EPSON, JHT, Vitrox).

Nice-to-have: Knowledge of handler/prober mechanics and thermal control systems; experience supporting high-volume, high-mix manufacturing.

Nice-to-have: Ability to read and interpret datasheets, test limits, and schematics.
Education Requirements
Diploma in Electronic Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering.
