Test Equipment Specialist

Role Summary

The Test Equipment Specialist will maintain, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance on test equipment and related collaterals in a high-volume assembly and test facility. This hands-on technician role supports production efficiency, product quality, and equipment readiness.

The position works on-site within the Assembly & Test factory and collaborates with Equipment Engineering on experiments, upgrades, data collection, and factory ramp activities including tool installation, deinstallation, and relocation.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Early career. No specific years of experience stated; role is technician-focused and suitable for candidates with a technical college credential or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include equipment upkeep, problem resolution, and operational support:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, convert, and perform preventive maintenance on test equipment and collaterals.
  • Monitor and analyze equipment control points to detect performance issues and identify improvements.
  • Escalate technical problems appropriately and generate incident and performance reports.
  • Follow assigned training plans, complete required training on schedule, and train others when assigned.
  • Support equipment engineering activities such as experiments, upgrades, data collection, and factory ramp tasks (installation, deinstallation, relocation).
  • Work within production schedules and shift patterns to meet customer quality and delivery requirements.

Requirements

Must-have skills and work expectations:

  • Proficient in basic technical troubleshooting and hands-on equipment maintenance.
  • English proficiency at or above pre-intermediate level.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team; self-disciplined with assigned working hours.
  • Willingness to work a 12-hour shift schedule (48 hours/week) and flexible to work overtime as needed.
  • Strong commitment to operational discipline, safety, and quality.

Education Requirements

Technical College (3-year) degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Electrical Refrigeration, or a related technical field is specified.
