Test Equipment Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for ensuring uptime, qualification, validation and lifecycle management of semiconductor test equipment at Micron's Sanand manufacturing site. The role supports production through troubleshooting, qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ), and cross-functional collaboration to improve throughput, yield, and equipment reliability.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Maintain equipment performance metrics (uptime, OEE, MTBF, MTTR) and drive rapid recovery of testers, handlers, SLT, burn-in, and motherboard systems.
- Analyze recurring failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Provide engineering support during production escalations and critical tool downtime.
- Lead installation, qualification and release of new test equipment; execute IQ/OQ/PQ, characterization, validation, and documentation.
- Identify throughput bottlenecks, optimize tester utilization and cycle time, and support yield improvement via equipment correlation and failure analysis.
- Collaborate with Process, NPI, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supplier teams on equipment and process improvements.
- Apply AI and automation tools for data analysis, predictive analytics, troubleshooting, reporting, and knowledge management.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Hands-on experience supporting semiconductor test equipment (testers, handlers, SLT, burn-in, motherboard systems) in production environments.
- Experience with equipment qualification and validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) and generating qualification reports and engineering documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting, failure analysis, and production support experience for critical tool downtime.
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (Process, NPI, Manufacturing, Quality, Suppliers).
- Ability to drive continuous improvement using equipment metrics (OEE, MTBF, MTTR) and to implement corrective actions.
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with AI/ML tools for predictive analytics and automation of analysis and reporting.
- Experience with supplier management, equipment lifecycle planning, and obsolescence mitigation.
