Test Engineer — Various Levels

Role Summary

Work on test engineering within the Operations team in San Jose to define and execute test plans for memory interface chips and silicon IP. Responsible for ATE hardware support, test coverage, manufacturing bring-up, yield optimization, and sustaining support across NPI to high-volume production.

Role involves cross-functional collaboration with design, manufacturing partners (OSATs), and suppliers to ensure product testability and production readiness.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Define test plans and coordinate with design teams to ensure adequate test coverage.
• Design ATE hardware for NPI support, including load boards, probe cards, and interfaces.
• Support the full product lifecycle: design validation, prototypes, manufacturing bring-up, and RMA/sustaining.
• Optimize yield, test time, and multi-site test configurations.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, customers, and suppliers.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

• Experience with test coverage and DFT (Scan, ATPG, JTAG, BIST).
• In-depth experience with Advantest V93k test systems.
• Experience with Smartest, Red Hat, and version control systems (GIT/SVN).
• Experience working with local and offshore OSATs and manufacturing partners.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn independently.
• Effective collaboration and communication across functional teams.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with DDR and other high-speed digital products.

Education Requirements

B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
