Role Summary

This entry-level engineering role is part of Texas Instruments' Career Accelerator Program (CAP). You will train and work across product, test and validation engineering functions to support development, qualification and manufacturing of analog and embedded processing ICs.

The role focuses on test software/hardware development, product debugging, test optimization, and supporting new product introductions, cost reduction and yield improvement projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams and manufacturing sites.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” intended for recent bachelor's graduates or early-career engineers. No specific years of prior industry experience required; suitable for new graduates participating in the CAP.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include hands-on engineering work across product, test and validation disciplines and cross-functional coordination to ensure product quality and manufacturability.

  • Participate in the Career Accelerator Program: structured training, on-the-job learning, and rotational exposure to product, test and validation engineering.
  • Develop and maintain test software and hardware; set up benches for verification and characterization.
  • Debug devices and test flows; optimize tests for manufacturing release and production efficiency.
  • Support new product introductions, cost reduction, capacity expansion and yield enhancement projects.
  • Serve as the operational contact for assigned product portfolio and resolve customer quality and application issues.
  • Facilitate cross-functional problem solving and communicate with wafer fabrication and assembly manufacturing sites.
  • Execute qualification and reliability tests and participate in device failure verification and analysis.

  • Authorized to work in the United States; Texas Instruments will not sponsor visas or work authorization for this position.
  • Ability to work onsite in Knoxville, TN.
  • Willingness to participate in structured training, rotations and hands-on lab assignments as part of the CAP.
  • Nice-to-have: basic understanding of schematics, layouts and digital components; familiarity with analog circuitry (op-amps, DC/DC power, data converters, sensors); programming in C/C++ (LabVIEW recommended); experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes), soldering and hardware/software debugging.
  • Professional skills: strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal and teamwork ability, analytical and problem-solving skills, initiative and time-management to deliver projects on schedule.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related field is required. A cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher is required. The posting does not list alternative equivalent-experience language or required certifications.
