Test Engineer - Modules

Role Summary

Support the design, development and manufacture of electronic products and modules by developing test systems, executing product verification, producing test software and analysing results. Work as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team to deliver reliable production test and product validation.

Experience Level

Entry-level to mid-level. Suitable for recent graduates and engineers with relevant experience; responsibilities will be matched to skills and training provided.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include:

  • Develop and implement test strategies and test specifications for product verification.
  • Design, build and maintain automated test systems (hardware and software).
  • Develop and support test applications using tools such as Visual Basic, C# and National Instruments platforms.
  • Support verification and validation activities, execute test plans and analyse results.
  • Investigate technical issues using structured problem-solving methods and communicate findings to engineering teams.
  • Identify and implement improvements to test processes and product performance.
  • Contribute to design reviews, technical discussions and project activities.
  • Occasional international travel (up to ~25%).

Requirements

  • Essential: interest in electronics, test engineering and product development; good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills; structured and organised approach; ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team; willingness to learn.
  • Essential: practical experience or demonstrable aptitude with test-system development, test execution and data analysis.
  • Desirable: experience with Visual Basic, Visual C# or other programming languages.
  • Desirable: knowledge of embedded C or microcontroller development.
  • Desirable: understanding of UART, SPI or I²C communication protocols.
  • Desirable: experience with LabVIEW, TestStand or National Instruments equipment.
  • Desirable: knowledge of circuit design or PCB layout tools such as Altium.
  • Desirable: experience in electronics manufacturing, product testing or validation.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Electronic or a related engineering discipline.
