Test Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer (Fresh Graduate)

Role Summary

Ensure the quality, functionality and reliability of semiconductor products before release by validating tests, diagnosing defects, and improving production test processes. The role is part of the Manufacturing team at the Bayan Lepas site and supports production test, QA, and product transfer activities.

This is an entry-level position focused on ATE test development, failure analysis, troubleshooting and production yield improvement.

Experience Level

Entry-level. Fresh graduates encouraged; typically 0–3 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary duties in production test engineering, failure analysis and process improvement.

• Set up new products and improve test strategies to reduce program test time and increase capacity and yield.
• Optimize existing test programs and implement measures for test yield improvement.
• Support QA by analyzing customer failure samples and developing countermeasure programs to prevent recurrence.
• Train and support technicians to ensure consistent repair and test operations.
• Troubleshoot test boards and ATE systems when IC failures occur and propose permanent fixes.
• Monitor and ensure test station operation, performance, stability and robustness; investigate root causes of deviations.
• Support new product transfers and machine buy-offs, including overseas travel when required.

Requirements

Must-have skills, experience, and work conditions.

• Familiarity with or ability to learn ATE tester platforms (examples: Teradyne ETS-800; Advantest T2000, T3347, Fusion-CX; LTX).
• Experience or aptitude for test program development, test time reduction and debug.
• Ability to perform failure analysis and implement effective countermeasures.
• Hands-on troubleshooting skills for test boards and test systems.
• Ability to train technicians and work cross-functionally with QA and production teams.
• Willingness to travel overseas for product transfers or machine buy-offs.
• Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and teamwork/communication skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics, Microelectronics or equivalent practical experience. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
