Test Engineer/Manufacturing Engineer
Role Summary
Ensure product quality, functionality, and reliability prior to customer release by developing and executing production tests, diagnosing failures, and implementing corrective actions. The role sits within the Manufacturing/Test organization at the Bayan Lepas site and partners with QA, technicians, and production teams.
Primary focus areas are test program optimization, test station stability, failure analysis, and production test yield improvement.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Early Career — 1+ year experience in Automated Test Equipment and production test recommended; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include establishing and maintaining production test capability, investigating failures, and improving test processes.
- Set up new product test flows and improve test strategies for existing products to reduce program test time and improve test capacity and yield.
- Analyze customer failure samples with QA and develop countermeasure programs to prevent recurrence.
- Train technician groups to support daily repair and test operations.
- Troubleshoot test boards, testers, and related hardware when IC failures occur and implement permanent countermeasures.
- Ensure test station operation, performance, stability, and robustness; develop investigation plans for deviations and root-cause analysis.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred technical skills and attributes.
- Experience with Automated Test Equipment systems, hardware/software integration, and production test methodologies; 1+ year preferred.
- Hands-on troubleshooting skills for test boards, fixtures, and tester hardware.
- Experience developing or improving test programs to reduce test time and improve yield.
- Ability to train and transfer knowledge to technicians and production staff.
- Willingness to travel overseas for new product transfers or machine buy-offs.
- Familiarity with common ATE platforms is preferred.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics, Microelectronics, or equivalent, or equivalent practical experience. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
