Test Engineer / Maintenance Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for verifying product quality, functionality and reliability before customer release by identifying, diagnosing, and resolving defects in production test environments. Works within the manufacturing department to develop and improve test strategies, support failure analysis, and maintain test equipment.

This role supports production test operations and cross-functional new product transfers.

Experience Level

Entry-level (0–3 years). 1+ year experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) or equivalent practical experience is preferred; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include establishing and improving test processes, troubleshooting equipment, and supporting production and QA teams.

• Develop and set up tests for new products and optimize test strategies to reduce program test time and improve capacity and yield.
• Analyze customer failure samples with QA and develop countermeasure programs to prevent recurrence.
• Train technician teams to improve daily repair and test operations.
• Troubleshoot test boards and testers when IC failures occur and implement permanent countermeasures.
• Ensure test station operation, performance, stability and robustness; investigate root causes of deviations.
• Support new product transfers and machine buy-offs, including international travel as required.

Requirements

Must-have technical experience and skills for reliable execution in production test environments.

• Minimum: 1+ year experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) systems, hardware/software integration, and production test methodologies, or equivalent practical experience.
• Practical troubleshooting experience with test boards, testers, and test station maintenance.
• Experience developing or improving test programs and reducing test time and addressing yield issues.
• Ability to train and guide technician teams.
• Willingness to travel internationally for product transfers or machine buy-offs.
• Familiarity with ATE platforms is beneficial: Teradyne ETS-800; Advantest T2000, T3347, Fusion-CX; LTX.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics, Microelectronics or a related technical field; or equivalent practical experience.
