Test Engineer - HVDC
Role Summary
Work on test and characterization development for highly integrated multi-rail power-management integrated circuits, with a focus on ATE program and hardware development, silicon qualification, yield improvement, and release to volume production. The role sits on the test/validation team supporting DC-DC converter products and cross-functional collaboration with design and production groups.
Experience Level
Mid-level - requires 3+ years of relevant test or characterization engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include developing and executing test strategies from characterization through production and supporting failure analysis and yield improvement.
- Collaborate with design engineers to derive test requirements and test plans.
- Create characterization and production test programs and design ATE hardware interface boards.
- Debug silicon on ATE and correlate results with bench measurements.
- Perform device qualification and characterization, including qual hardware development.
- Analyze silicon results and support failure analysis tasks.
- Perform statistical analysis of yield fallout; debug and address yield issues and optimize test time.
- Define and implement test strategies for new DC-DC converter products.
- Deliver robust, cost-effective ATE hardware and software solutions and drive product quality.
- Work with production teams to release products to volume manufacturing.
Requirements
Key required skills and experience, followed by preferred qualifications.
- Must-have: 3+ years of relevant experience in ATE/test or characterization engineering.
- Must-have: ATE experience on Teradyne Eagle or equivalent analog ATE (iFlex, LTX, VLCT); Eagle experience preferred.
- Must-have: Experience developing characterization and production test programs and associated hardware.
- Must-have: Strong knowledge of electronic devices, circuits, and analog test techniques.
- Must-have: Data analysis experience using Spotfire, dataPower or equivalent STDF-based tools.
- Must-have: Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, sourcemeters, electronic loads, etc.).
- Must-have: Experience with product engineering activities such as yield improvement and test-time reduction; understanding of IC product development from concept to volume production.
- Nice-to-have: Mixed-signal test techniques, experience porting tests to offshore manufacturing sites, and familiarity with TI roadmap testers.
- Nice-to-have: Programming/scripting in C++, Python, C#; LabVIEW and TestStand; revision control tools (Subversion, Git); strong communication and project management skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (required per posting).
