Job Title

Test Engineer — BGP

Role Summary

The Test Engineer will design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions for battery-gauge and multi-rail power-management integrated circuits. This role works with firmware, product engineering, design, and production teams to deliver test programs, ATE hardware, and processes that meet quality, cost, and schedule targets.

Experience Level

Mid-level; approximately 5 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include test development, silicon characterization, and production release support.

  • Develop test plans and create characterization and production test programs for analog/mixed-signal ICs.
  • Design ATE hardware interfaces, load boards, probe fixtures, and related test circuitry.
  • Debug silicon on ATE and correlate ATE results with bench measurements.
  • Analyze silicon results and support failure analysis and design validation.
  • Perform statistical analysis of yield fallout and implement yield-improvement actions.
  • Optimize test time and drive cost-effective, robust test solutions.
  • Collaborate with production teams to release products to volume manufacturing.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience are listed first; preferred skills follow.

  • Must-have: ~5 years relevant experience in IC test development and production test.
  • Must-have: ATE experience on Teradyne J750 or equivalent analog ATE (ETS800/Eagle); J750 preferred.
  • Must-have: Characterization and production test program and hardware development experience.
  • Must-have: Strong knowledge of electronic devices/circuits and analog test techniques.
  • Must-have: Data-analysis experience using Spotfire, dataPower, or equivalent STDF-based tools.
  • Must-have: Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, sourcemeters, power supplies, loads).
  • Must-have: Experience with yield improvement, test-time reduction, and product engineering activities.
  • Nice-to-have: Programming in C/C++, Python, or ATE-specific languages (e.g., IG-XL).
  • Nice-to-have: Background in automated test hardware design (load boards, probe cards, fixtures).
  • Nice-to-have: Knowledge of power-management IC architectures, analog measurement techniques, semiconductor device fundamentals, SPC, and DFT for analog testing.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (specified in the posting).
