Test Engineer (ATE)
BroadcomJob Title
Test Engineer (ATE)
Role Summary
Join the Semiconductor Test Engineering team to develop production, characterization, and qualification test programs for SoCs and ASICs using ATE platforms. Work with design, product, DFT, and quality teams to ensure test coverage, optimize test time, and support high-volume manufacturing.
Experience Level
Senior - 8+ years of relevant semiconductor test engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include developing, validating, and supporting tester programs from early silicon bring-up through manufacturing ramps.
- Develop, debug, and maintain ATE test programs for production, characterization, and qualification on Advantest 93K (or equivalent).
- Process and convert patterns from design environments into tester-compatible formats.
- Perform silicon characterization across process, voltage, and temperature corners; analyze results to drive yield and performance improvements.
- Collaborate with DFT, design, and product teams to define test requirements, improve coverage, and close gaps.
- Optimize test flows and methodologies to reduce test time and cost while ensuring quality.
- Drive correlation between simulation, bench, and tester environments.
- Support high-volume manufacturing ramps, address test escapes and yield excursions, and improve test program robustness.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.
- 8+ years of semiconductor test engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of digital and high-speed test methodologies, scan/DFT concepts, and pattern processing.
- Hands-on experience with ATE platforms (Advantest or equivalent).
- Proficiency in scripting/programming languages such as Python or C/C++.
- Solid understanding of semiconductor device physics and characterization methods.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Preferred: experience with SoC/AI accelerators, networking or high-speed SerDes devices, tester load board/probe card bring-up and debug, and supporting high-volume production test.
Education Requirements
BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (with related experience), or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. The posting also indicates recent college graduates may apply and allows equivalent practical experience where stated.
