Staff Analog Engineer
Role Summary
Design and develop smart power stages and power-management integrated circuits (ICs) for the Power Product Group, Performance Computing Power Team in Catania, Italy. The role covers transistor-level analog and mixed-signal circuit design, simulation, verification, and cross-functional integration.
Experience Level
Senior level. Experience guidance from the posting: BSEE holders ~10+ years, MSEE holders ~8+ years, PhD holders ~5+ years in analog and mixed-signal IC design.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include design, verification, and cross-team collaboration to deliver power-management solutions.
- Design low-power precision analog and mixed-signal circuits (LDOs, charge pumps, bandgaps, amplifiers, DACs, ADCs).
- Develop smart power stages and power-management ICs.
- Perform circuit simulations and analysis to optimize performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with digital design, layout, and verification teams for integrable solutions.
- Conduct design reviews and provide technical feedback to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Support product definition and alignment with customer and market requirements.
- Stay current on industry technologies to inform design choices.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and professional competencies.
- Proven analog and mixed-signal IC design experience (transistor-level design expertise).
- Strong understanding of analog design principles and power-management techniques.
- Proficiency with Cadence design tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills; proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in DC-DC switching converter design.
- Experience with advanced process technologies (CMOS, BiCMOS, BCD).
- Familiarity with industry standards and compliance requirements.
Education Requirements
Formal qualifications listed: B.S. in Electrical Engineering with ~10+ years relevant experience; M.S. in Electrical Engineering with ~8+ years; Ph.D. with ~5+ years - all focused on analog and mixed-signal IC design or closely related technical fields.
