Job Title

Test Development (TD) Senior Engineer

Role Summary

Senior engineer responsible for pre-silicon and post-silicon validation and production test development of analog and digital IPs to enable new product introduction and high-volume manufacturing.

Works with cross-functional teams (Analog, Digital, Firmware/Software, DFT, Validation, Systems) to define and deliver test plans, ATE-based test systems, automation, and data analysis for Audio, PMU/charger, radio and auxiliary functions.

Experience Level

Senior-level role. Experience requirements vary by degree: roughly Bachelor's-level candidates typically require multiple years of industry test or post-silicon validation experience; advanced degrees reduce the years-of-experience expected (see Education Requirements).

Responsibilities

Main responsibilities include ownership of production test development, validation, and continuous improvement.

  • Own and deliver production test development for analog and digital IPs across validation and manufacturing.
  • Capture test requirements, create test plans, and participate in program-level technical reviews.
  • Design, develop, and support hardware and software test systems on Automatic Test Equipment (UltraFlex ATE).
  • Develop automation and data-analysis solutions to improve coverage, yield, quality, and test time.
  • Participate in pre-silicon emulation and post-silicon bring-up, validation, and compliance testing.
  • Debug complex test and hardware issues, perform root-cause analysis and defect investigation.
  • Drive yield improvement, test time reduction, and continuous test program quality improvements.
  • Review test programs, scripts, data flows, and hardware designs; present technical data at reviews.
  • Collaborate with global cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed where indicated.

  • Must-have: Strong programming in Python and C; experience with ATE scripting (Visual Basic or similar) is beneficial.
  • Must-have: Solid understanding of analog and digital semiconductor circuits and experience with analog/digital audio, PMU, and battery charging IPs.
  • Must-have: Hands-on ATE experience (UltraFlex or similar) and lab equipment proficiency (power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, audio analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers).
  • Must-have: Strong analytical and debugging skills, plus experience extracting insights from test data.
  • Must-have: Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and take independent technical ownership.
  • Nice-to-have: Working knowledge of Bluetooth radio architectures and test considerations.
  • Nice-to-have: Exposure to RTL verification (UVM/OVM, SystemVerilog assertions) or pre-silicon emulation.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with revision control and tracking tools (Perforce, DesignSync, ClearCase/ClearQuest, Jira).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical field.
