Test Development Engineer

Role Summary

The Test Development Engineer will work with Product Engineering and Quality teams to investigate test fallout, debug test and device issues, and develop manufacturable test solutions for production. The role focuses on test pattern generation, test robustness improvements, and containment test development to address customer quality concerns.

Experience Level

Entry-level — fresh graduates or candidates with up to 2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include technical debugging, test development, and production enablement:

• Partner with Product Engineers to investigate and resolve identified test fallout and yield issues.
• Debug test failures to determine whether failures are due to device defects or test robustness.
• Develop containment tests and functional test patterns (SOC test bench, mailbox, etc.) for quality complaints and cross-test solutions.
• Support disposition guidance on unresolved units during cost and quality projects.
• Enable manufacturable test solutions and handover fixes to production within committed timelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement test/pattern changes and improve test coverage.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes; nice-to-have items listed where applicable.

• Programming experience in C/C++, Visual Basic, Perl, or shell scripting.
• Experience debugging low-level software and hardware.
• Hands-on programming experience with microprocessors or microcontrollers.
• Knowledge of semiconductor fundamentals, digital logic, and CMOS technologies.
• ATE software development and debugging experience; nice-to-have: experience with Teradyne J750 or Teradyne UltraFlex.
• Independent, accountable, able to work in teams and results-oriented.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronics, Computer Science, or equivalent technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience. Fresh graduates are eligible; up to 2 years of relevant working experience expected.
