Test & Characterization Engineer (2026 New College Graduate)

Role Summary

Join the Central Services Lab to support silicon characterization, electrical measurement, and data analysis that enable device modeling and PDK delivery. You will work with technology development and reference circuit teams to validate silicon and improve measurement workflows.

Experience Level

Entry-level — New college graduate; no prior years-of-experience required. This position is intended for recent graduates entering the workforce.

Responsibilities

Primary duties involve hands-on electrical testing, data analysis, and collaboration to support device modeling and validation.

  • Support device characterization and electrical testing at wafer and structure level.
  • Assist with data analysis, validation, and reporting of characterization results.
  • Collaborate with engineers on model development, test planning, and measurement correlation.
  • Develop scripts or tools to improve data processing, analysis, and workflow efficiency.
  • Perform work in compliance with Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred skills for successful performance in the role.

  • Must-have: English fluency (written and verbal).
  • Preferred: Prior internship or co-op experience in a related area; demonstrated leadership in projects or extracurriculars.
  • Project management skills and ability to execute solutions in ambiguous situations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with electrical testing, lab measurements, or semiconductor device characterization is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with programming or scripting (Python, C, C++) and exposure to data analysis or automation workflows.

Education Requirements

Graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited program; minimum overall GPA of 3.0 required. (This position targets new college graduates.)
