Technology Development, Research & Innovation Internship (Singapore)

Role Summary

This is a full-time university internship within Micron's Technology Products Group (TPG) in Singapore supporting semiconductor technology development and research projects. Interns work with researchers and engineers on process development, materials engineering, device characterization, process integration, modelling, simulation and data analytics.

Projects may leverage AI/ML, generative AI, advanced analytics and simulation tools to accelerate technology development. Assignments are matched to technical fit and business priorities.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship for university students (Master's or PhD preferred). Candidates should be available full time for at least a 4-month internship; prior research or laboratory experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Interns will support research and engineering tasks mapped to project objectives. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Design and execute experiments to evaluate process, material, or device performance.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental and characterization data.
  • Develop models, simulations, or data-analytic workflows to support technology evaluations.
  • Collaborate with researchers and engineers to solve technical integration challenges.
  • Produce technical documentation, reports, and a final presentation of findings.
  • Provide recommendations that inform technology development and process improvements.

Requirements

Minimum expectations and desirable skills for successful internship contributions.

  • Must-have: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret complex experimental data; ability to commit full-time for the internship period (minimum ~4 months); demonstrated interest in semiconductor technology or manufacturing.
  • Nice-to-have: Prior research, laboratory, teaching assistantship, or industry attachment experience; familiarity with statistical analysis, modelling, simulation, programming, or data analytics tools.
  • Advantageous: Exposure to Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or AI-enabled engineering workflows; experience with experimental characterization or process integration.

Education Requirements

Ideal candidates are currently pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Microelectronics, Semiconductor Technology, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Nanotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
