Technology Development Quality and Reliability Engineer
Role Summary
Work in Technology Development ESD and Latch-up (LU) reliability engineering to develop and validate solutions and design rules that ensure ESD and latch-up robustness in integrated circuits during technology development.
The role is on the reliability engineering team and supports internal and foundry design teams through test-structure design, experiments, data analysis, and documentation of design rules.
Experience Level
Mid-level — typically requires 3+ years of experience in ESD or latch-up reliability engineering and device characterization.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include designing experiments, characterizing devices, and producing actionable design guidance.
- Design test structures and coordinate their layout on test chips.
- Plan and execute ESD and latch-up experiments, including transmission line pulse (TLP) measurements.
- Analyze experimental data and support design of experiments for reliability assessment.
- Develop, document, and publish design rules and recommendations for internal and foundry design teams.
- Serve as a technical consultant to design teams to address ESD and latch-up risks, especially in analog circuits.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during the technology development phase to validate reliability solutions.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience. Preferred items listed when applicable.
- 3+ years of experience in ESD or latch-up (LU) reliability engineering.
- 3+ years of experience with device physics, device characterization, and/or VLSI design knowledge.
- Hands-on experience with transmission line pulse (TLP) measurement and familiarity with ESD models (e.g., CDM, HBM).
- Experience planning and guiding test-structure layout on test chips.
- VLSI circuit design experience, including analog and digital; familiarity with ESD circuit design techniques and topologies.
- Strong data analysis skills (examples: JMP, Excel) to support experiment design and result interpretation.
- Ability to document technical findings and communicate design rules to engineering teams.
Education Requirements
Minimum: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field. Preferred: Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering. (The posting explicitly lists these degrees and related technical fields.)
