Job Title
Technical Support Engineer β High Frequency
Role Summary
Provide technical support and product expertise for high-frequency electromagnetic simulation tools to customers across Japan. Work with R&D, Sales, and Customer Success to resolve complex simulation issues, verify fixes, and improve product workflows.
Primary focus: antenna, RF, signal integrity, and power integrity simulation; automation and training to accelerate customer designs and deployments.
Experience Level
Entry-level β 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in high-frequency simulation, antenna design, or signal/power integrity.
Responsibilities
Deliver technical support, reproduce and troubleshoot customer issues, and create automation and training materials. Key responsibilities include:
- Provide technical support for high-frequency simulation tools (HFSS, SBR++, and related electromagnetic solvers) for antenna, RF, SI, and PI applications.
- Troubleshoot complex simulation issues involving S-parameters, wave propagation, antenna radiation patterns, transmission line impedance, eye diagrams, and PDNs.
- Develop and deliver automation workflows and scripts using Python, C#, or JavaScript to streamline customer processes.
- Work with R&D to file defect reports, verify fixes, and translate customer requirements into product improvement suggestions.
- Conduct technical demonstrations, webinars, and training sessions for customers and channel partners in Japan.
- Support pre-sales technical discussions and post-sales deployment in collaboration with Sales and Customer Success teams.
- Participate in field testing of new software releases and perform on-site customer support (up to ~25% travel).
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- 1β3 years hands-on experience in high-frequency simulation, antenna design, signal integrity, or power integrity.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (Python, C#, or JavaScript) for automation.
- Practical experience with electromagnetic simulation tools such as HFSS, SBR++, CST Microwave Studio, or ADS.
- Strong understanding of high-frequency concepts: S-parameters, wave propagation, antenna radiation, transmission line theory, and scattering analysis.
- Fluency in Japanese and professional working proficiency in English (written and spoken).
- Ability to manage multiple support cases, reproduce issues, and communicate technical trade-offs clearly.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with EMI/EMC, PCB and package design, or commercial CAE/EDA tools (including Synopsys products).
- Experience validating and debugging simulation models, creating technical documentation, or producing training materials.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field; PhD is welcomed. The posting also references practical or research experience in these areas.
