Technical Staff Engineer - Verification
Role Summary
Lead verification engineer responsible for developing and executing verification strategies for Ethernet MAC, PCS and PHY for next-generation FPGA products. Own verification specifications, UVM/SystemVerilog testbenches, simulation regressions, and RTL debug while coordinating with design and cross-functional teams.
Mentor engineers, share best practices, and drive verification closure. Travel: 0% - 25%.
Experience Level
Senior - 12+ years of functional verification experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include planning and executing verification for Ethernet subsystems and ensuring functional correctness.
- Define verification specifications and develop comprehensive verification plans.
- Design and build UVM/SystemVerilog testbenches and constrained-random testcases.
- Execute simulation regressions, analyze coverage, identify gaps, and drive closure.
- Debug RTL against design intent and collaborate with designers to resolve issues.
- Implement coverage-driven and assertion-based verification techniques.
- Mentor and coach engineering staff; promote verification best practices.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 12+ years of functional verification experience with Ethernet 40G/100G, 1588 PTP, and JESD204 simulation verification.
- Strong protocol knowledge of Ethernet and AMBA AXI/AHB.
- Proficient scripting skills: Python, Shell, Perl, TCL.
- Experience with coverage-driven and assertion-based verification methodologies.
- Experience developing constrained-random and directed simulation testcases using SystemVerilog/UVM; C-based testcase development is a plus.
- Solid understanding of IC chip design, development flows, and verification methodologies.
- Proficiency in HDL languages: SystemVerilog, Verilog, VHDL.
- Proven ability to define functional coverage models, execute regressions, analyze coverage gaps, and drive verification closure.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
