Technical Safety Assessor / Architect (HW-SoC) (f/m/d)

Role Summary

Senior technical contributor in the CTO Functional Safety team responsible for technical assessments and peer reviews of safety-related SoC hardware products. Support development of system and hardware safety concepts and analyses, and influence future SoC/IC design decisions.

Collaborate with product lines, engineering teams, OEMs and standards bodies to ensure compliance with functional safety requirements; travel may be required.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead ISO 26262 functional safety assessments for hardware products (SoC).
  • Perform and manage technical peer reviews on projects at the request of BL/PL Safety Managers.
  • Support system safety solution development: requirements, architecture and safety analyses (FTA, FMEA, DFA, FMEDA, data flow analysis).
  • Drive innovation and influence future SoC/IC hardware designs from a safety perspective.
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across organizational boundaries and with management.
  • Represent the company in standardization bodies and related initiatives.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as required.

Requirements

Must-have:

  • Intimate knowledge of ISO 26262 or other relevant safety standard.
  • 5+ years developing hardware/semiconductor safety products for automotive (architecting, designing, simulation, analysis).
  • Proficiency with safety-related semiconductor products (SoC, MCU, MPU).
  • Experience working in a requirements-driven development process.
  • Clear understanding of supplier vs OEM responsibilities for product safety.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership and ability to influence technical and business stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication across technical contributors, business stakeholders and management.

Nice-to-have:

  • Model-Based Systems Engineering, safety assessment, confirmation reviews and verification reviews.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science. The posting states this education is expected with 10 years of industry experience.
