Technical Program Manager - SoC & Digital Design
Role Summary
The Technical Program Manager will lead program execution for multi‑chiplet SoC development, coordinating architecture, design, verification, physical design, DFT, integration, and tape‑out activities. The role manages schedules, dependencies, and cross‑functional communication among internal teams and external contributors to deliver RISC‑V CPU servers, ML processors, memory, and I/O subsystems.
This position is hybrid and based in Tokyo, Japan.
Experience Level
Mid-level - minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in SoC chip design, technical program management, or engineering leadership.
Responsibilities
Manage and drive complex semiconductor programs from early planning through tape‑out.
- Define and maintain program plans, milestones, deliverables, and schedules across multiple chiplets and teams.
- Coordinate cross‑functional activities between architecture, design, verification, physical design, DFT, software, and external vendors.
- Identify, track, and mitigate risks and dependencies; implement corrective actions to keep projects on schedule.
- Organize and lead program reviews, gate reviews, and status reporting to stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Ensure integration readiness and tape‑out preparedness by driving verification closure and signoffs.
- Facilitate technical communication between engineering and non‑technical stakeholders.
Requirements
Must‑have technical skills and program management experience.
- 5+ years experience in SoC chip development, technical program management, or engineering leadership.
- Strong understanding of the chip development lifecycle: microarchitecture, design, verification, DFT, physical design, integration, and tape‑out.
- Familiarity with AMBA, NoC, RISC‑V, PCIe/CXL, and Ethernet standards and technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to develop program plans, track milestones and deliverables, manage multiple concurrent projects, and drive cross‑team collaboration.
- Proven communication skills for coordinating technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Employment may be contingent on eligibility to access U.S. export‑controlled technology; candidates may need appropriate citizenship, permanent residency, or prior license approval.
Nice to have:
- Experience with chiplet‑based SoC integration and multi‑die partitioning.
- Previous work on RISC‑V CPU server or machine learning processor projects.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. The role is described with a 5+ year experience expectation in addition to the degree requirement.
