Technical Program Manager — PDK
Role Summary
Lead cross-functional programs for Intel's Process Design Kits (PDKs), coordinating design enablement, validation, and release activities across engineering, EDA, foundry, and manufacturing partners. The role focuses on planning, risk mitigation, schedule execution, and alignment of technical and business objectives.
This position is part of the Design Technology Platform organization and is eligible for a hybrid work model at the assigned Intel site.
Experience Level
Level: Senior. Requires substantial program leadership experience; the posting specifies a minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Manage complex, matrixed technical programs spanning PDK development through release. Key responsibilities include:
- Lead cross-organizational teams for PDK development, implementation, enhancement, and release.
- Drive program execution across all project lifecycle phases from requirements through deployment and release.
- Coordinate activities, dependencies, and schedules among multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Establish program objectives, priorities, milestones, resource needs, and deliverables.
- Identify, track, and mitigate program risks and issues to enable timely decisions.
- Maintain and communicate program schedules and progress reports.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, processes, and budget expectations.
- Optimize resource utilization and influence cross-organizational strategy.
- Act as primary interface between engineering teams, business stakeholders, and leadership.
Requirements
Minimum and preferred professional experience, excluding degree/certification items (see Education Requirements below).
Must-have:
- 8+ years of professional experience in relevant technical domains (role specifies 8+ years overall).
- 6+ years experience in silicon IP/SoC hardware design and/or PDK component development and validation.
- Proven track record delivering large-scale technical projects from concept through release.
- Experience with program management methodologies, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong technical understanding of semiconductor technology, PDK architecture, development methodologies, and engineering processes.
- Ability to lead matrixed, cross-functional teams and coordinate multiple interdependent workstreams.
Nice-to-have / Preferred:
- Experience coordinating with foundries, OSATs, EDA vendors, and design enablement teams for PDK delivery, silicon bring-up, or product qualification.
- Experience managing competing priorities across multiple projects and partner organizations.
Education Requirements
Minimum: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field plus 8+ years of experience (as stated under Minimum Qualifications). Preferred certifications include PMP, PgMP, Agile, Scrum or related program management credentials. (No alternative "equivalent experience" language specified in the posting.)
