Technical Program Manager, ASIC
Role Summary
Lead cross-functional, multi-site teams to deliver ASICs and associated subsystems for Meta's Infrastructure Engineering organization. The role spans program management across silicon and firmware development from concept through production.
Experience Level
Senior β targeted at experienced candidates. Typical guidance: 12+ years in ASIC development and 5+ years in program or product management with technical leadership.
Responsibilities
Drive ASIC program execution and coordinate engineering, vendors, and product partners across the silicon lifecycle.
- Manage cross-functional infrastructure projects in a matrixed organization.
- Lead ASIC development programs from concept, design, fabrication, validation, qualification to production release.
- Coordinate vendors, ODMs, and internal software/hardware teams to deliver ASIC solutions.
- Define product roadmaps in collaboration with Product Management and engineering owners.
- Own workstreams end-to-end; identify and resolve project blockers proactively.
- Drive process improvements across teams and functions.
- Collaborate with software, hardware, and architecture teams to align requirements and constraints.
Requirements
Key must-have skills and experience for immediate effectiveness, followed by preferred qualifications.
- Must-have:
- 12+ years of experience in ASIC development.
- 5+ years of program or product management with proven technical leadership.
- Experience managing ASIC design flow: architecture, micro-architecture, RTL, synthesis, functional verification, physical layout.
- Experience with pre-silicon testing (emulation, FPGA) and post-silicon validation.
- Familiarity with semiconductor technology and manufacturing processes.
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, cross-functional leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to operate from technical details to the big-picture program view.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated collaboration within diverse teams.
- Nice-to-have / Preferred:
- Experience with machine learning training or inference silicon and systems.
- Experience in RTL design with VHDL, Verilog, and/or SystemVerilog.
- Experience working with ODMs and external vendors; background in semiconductor start-ups.
- Experience with data center architecture and deployment.
- Familiarity with compilers, and experience integrating AI tools to optimize workflows.
- Experience adhering to responsible, ethical AI practices.
Education Requirements
BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a relevant technical field.
