Role Summary
As Technical Marketing Lead, you will drive customer engagement and technical enablement for AMD's high-speed SerDes solutions. You will work with engineering, product management, sales, and customers to support adoption and system-level optimization across AI, networking, communications, and high-performance computing platforms.
This is a customer-facing role requiring deep SerDes and system-level expertise and strong communication and presentation skills.
Experience Level
Senior level. Relevant experience in SerDes, signal integrity, and customer-facing technical roles is expected; specific years of experience are not specified.
Responsibilities
The Technical Marketing Lead will support customers and internal teams by translating product capabilities into system-level solutions and enabling adoption.
- Serve as technical authority for high-speed SerDes technologies and system interface performance.
- Support customer engagements, design reviews, technical presentations, and system optimization discussions.
- Develop technical collateral including presentations, application notes, whitepapers, and training material.
- Conduct technical training sessions for internal teams and customers.
- Support benchmarking, channel analysis, signal-integrity evaluation, and performance validation activities.
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, and sales to align customer requirements with product capabilities.
- Represent the company at customer meetings, webinars, conferences, and industry events.
- Monitor and stay current with emerging SerDes technologies, protocols, and market trends.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Hands-on experience in SerDes, signal integrity, or high-speed digital design.
- Strong understanding of protocols such as PCIe, Ethernet, CXL, USB, DisplayPort, and PAM4-based interfaces.
- Familiarity with SerDes concepts including CDR, CTLE, DFE, FEC, jitter analysis, and link optimization.
- Familiarity with high-speed PCB design and system-level SI considerations.
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, VNAs, and SerDes debug/evaluation tools.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and support customer-focused technical initiatives.
Nice-to-have:
- Prior customer-facing technical roles in the semiconductor or electronics industry.
- Experience with AI, networking, hyperscale, automotive, or high-performance computing platforms.
- Familiarity with channel simulation, margin analysis, and compliance testing.
