Technical Marketing Engineer – FPGA Board and Solution Readiness
Role Summary
Hybrid role to lead readiness and enablement of AMD FPGA and Adaptive SoC platforms. Responsible for board design guidance, evaluation board enablement, solution validation, and customer-facing technical enablement.
Work within the Product Software and Solutions team at the intersection of hardware engineering, software tools, field enablement, and technical marketing to make AMD platforms customer-ready.

Responsibilities
Accountable for making evaluation boards and reference platforms ready for customers and field teams, and for delivering technical enablement.
- Drive board and solution readiness: hardware, documentation, and technical guidance for customers.
- Provide design reviews and technical guidance on schematic, PCB layout, power delivery, signal integrity, thermal design, and board bring-up.
- Lead out-of-box testing and validate the full customer experience from bring-up through software installation and example designs.
- Evaluate development and reference boards for customer use cases and production readiness.
- Own assigned evaluation boards from early access through general availability; define Day‑1 usable modes and supported workflows.
- Validate tools, reference designs, and board collateral before shipment to ensure repeatable bring-up.
- Create and maintain customer-facing collateral: user guides, quick starts, demo guides, and known-issues documentation.
- Deliver technical presentations, workshops, webinars, and training; enable FAEs and technical specialists.
- Support customer engagements and events: demo planning, board allocation, and backup strategies.
- Partner with tools teams to validate evaluation workflows and translate hardware capability into staged evaluation narratives.
- Capture and escalate customer feedback to influence board designs, reference platforms, and solution roadmaps.
Requirements

- Must-have: Extensive experience designing, debugging, validating, and bringing up FPGA-based systems and evaluation platforms.
- Must-have: Strong high-speed digital board design skills: PCB stack-up, signal integrity, power integrity, power delivery, and thermal design.
- Must-have: Experience with high-speed memory and I/O interfaces such as DDR/LPDDR, PCIe, Ethernet, USB, DisplayPort/HDMI, MIPI, JESD204.
- Must-have: Practical experience using AMD FPGA development tools (Vivado, Vitis) and familiarity with embedded software/Linux-based environments.
- Must-have: Hands-on experience with board bring-up, validation, and preparing platforms for production adoption.
- Must-have: Strong technical communication and documentation skills; experience enabling field engineers and presenting to customers.
- Must-have: Experience collaborating across hardware, software, product management, and marketing to deliver customer-ready solutions.
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with AMD FPGA and Adaptive SoC families (Versal, Zynq UltraScale+, Virtex, Kintex, Artix, Spartan, Kria).
- Nice-to-have: Experience with board design and SI tools such as Cadence Allegro, HyperLynx, Altium Designer, and IBIS-AMI simulation methods.
- Nice-to-have: Experience using AI tools or methodologies to optimize workflows and improve enablement processes.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline is specified.
