Job Title

TD Thin Films Process Development Engineer (DRAM)

Role Summary

Develop and scale thin-film deposition processes that form the foundation of advanced DRAM devices. The role involves hands-on process development, experimental execution, data analysis, and delivering manufacturable solutions.

Work within Advanced DRAM Technology Development and collaborate with suppliers, integration, and manufacturing teams to meet program goals.

Experience Level

Mid-level — typically 2–5+ years of relevant semiconductor process development experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include developing deposition techniques, driving projects, and ensuring process readiness for manufacturing.

  • Develop and incorporate new thin-film deposition techniques for high-aspect-ratio DRAM features.
  • Correlate on-wafer performance to tool/hardware behavior to improve uniformity, conformity, and electrical quality.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to meet technical requirements and program milestones.
  • Partner with suppliers and internal teams to influence technical and strategic roadmaps.
  • Implement development timelines and communicate status to leadership using model-based problem solving.
  • Proactively address feasibility and manufacturability issues prior to production impact.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate contribution.

  • Hands-on experience with thin-film deposition and process troubleshooting in a semiconductor or related environment.
  • Foundational knowledge of ALD, epitaxy, or plasma-based deposition methods.
  • Practical experience using data-driven methods such as DOE and SPC.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate technical results clearly to diverse audiences.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience applying AI, coding, or data science to automate and improve process development.
  • Proven ability to deliver results through collaborative, cross-functional teamwork.
  • 5+ years of experience in semiconductor thin-film deposition or manufacturing.

Education Requirements

Master’s degree in Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience; or a PhD with relevant research experience. Related technical degrees are acceptable.
