Job Title

TD Photolithography Automation Engineer

Role Summary

Work within Micron’s advanced lithography and automation organization to develop and deploy automation and data-driven solutions that improve overlay, critical-dimension uniformity (CDU), and patterning for semiconductor manufacturing.

The role partners with process engineers, automation teams, and vendors to move solutions from development into high-volume manufacturing and to influence the long-term automation roadmap.

Experience Level

Mid-level. See Education Requirements for specific degree and years-of-experience combinations; typically requires several years of hands-on photolithography or process automation experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include technical development, integration, and standardization of photolithography automation systems.

  • Identify overlay, CD uniformity, and patterning issues and define automation or data-science solutions.
  • Execute and support automation projects in partnership with process development teams.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and equipment/software vendors to improve photo automation systems.
  • Define hardware and software requirements for lithography automation solutions.
  • Document and standardize automation methods across technologies and global sites.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for the role.

  • Hands-on experience in photolithography, metrology, overlay, CDs, or photo patterning.
  • Familiarity with fab operations and photo automation systems.
  • Strong analytical skills, including statistics and data analysis.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience in R&D or high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency with DOE, data modeling, or advanced statistical techniques.
  • Experience delivering production-ready automation solutions.
  • Experience leading or contributing to cross-functional technical projects and working with vendors.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a lithography-related field plus 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master's/PhD plus 2 years of relevant experience.
