Tapeout & Mask Operations Engineer (2027 New College Graduate)
Role Summary
Support and modernize tapeout and mask operations by delivering cloud-based tools, automation, and analytics. Work with global engineering, product, manufacturing, and IT teams to improve operational efficiency across the customer tapeout lifecycle.
This entry role provides hands-on experience with cloud technologies, EDA workflows, and data-driven process improvements.
Experience Level
Entry-level β new college graduate (class of 2027).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on enabling scalable EDA functions, developing automation and analytics, and supporting tapeout operations.
- Enable and support cloud-based EDA functions and tapeout workflows.
- Develop automation, applications, and tooling to improve tapeout efficiency and user experience.
- Create dashboards, visualizations, and reports from EDA outputs to provide actionable insights.
- Analyze tapeout operations KPIs and identify optimization opportunities.
- Support customer tapeouts, mask manufacturing activities, and wafer start enablement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize processes and drive continuous improvement.
- Research and evaluate new technologies, including AI/ML and AWS services, to support transformation efforts.
- Perform all activities in accordance with Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHS&S) requirements.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- Experience developing automation, analytics, or process-improvement solutions using Python, Angular, Amazon QuickSight, or Microsoft Power Platform.
- Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases and data processing concepts.
- Understanding of cloud-based application development and platform services for scalable business solutions.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle practices and tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Git, Jenkins, or Bamboo.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Nice-to-have:
- Internship, co-op, research, or relevant industry experience.
- Exposure to semiconductor manufacturing, foundry operations, or EDA workflows.
- Leadership experience from academic projects, student organizations, or competitions.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution; graduating in 2027. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5.
