Tape Out Engineer

Role Summary

The Tape Out Engineer owns the final verification and delivery of physical and logical design data to semiconductor foundries. This role coordinates with design, program management, technologists, and manufacturing teams to ensure designs meet foundry requirements and quality standards prior to fabrication.

The position focuses on tape-out execution, design integrity checks, issue resolution, and maintaining records for process improvement.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include executing tape-out activities, verifying data, and coordinating cross-functional resolution of issues.

  • Coordinate and execute tape-out process for semiconductor products, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of design data to manufacturing.
  • Verify design integrity by reviewing databases and documentation, identifying and addressing discrepancies or errors.
  • Collaborate with design teams, technologists, program managers, and process engineering to resolve technical issues and optimize designs for manufacturability.
  • Ensure all deliverables conform to foundry requirements and manufacturing workflows.
  • Maintain detailed records of tape-out procedures, revisions, and outcomes for traceability and process improvement.

  • Effective English communication for collaboration with cross-functional and multi-site teams.
  • Knowledge of foundry submission requirements and manufacturability optimization practices.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
