Role Summary
Work on Fleet and Scale software for Intel server products to improve in-fleet customer experience and support high-quality product launches. The role focuses on platform-level power, thermal stress, and telemetry software development, validation, maintenance, and debugging.
This is a fixed-term contract position (approximately 24 months) that requires close collaboration with hardware engineering, power design, platform validation, and customer-facing teams.
Experience Level
Mid-level (Level - Mid-Career). The role seeks candidates with 6+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include developing and validating software and workloads that diagnose and stress power/thermal behavior at the platform level.
- Develop and maintain power diagnostic and thermal analysis software for Intel servers.
- Define, implement, and drive power and thermal stress workloads across platforms and software stacks.
- Measure, analyze, and debug workloads to identify and mitigate power and performance gaps.
- Extend system-level power delivery workload capabilities, including power-up and power-down analysis.
- Collaborate with customer-facing teams to reproduce and debug power and thermal issues.
- Assess functional defects' impact on performance and coordinate fixes with IP, SoC, and software teams.
- Integrate software libraries and components into existing tools and automation.
- Develop workloads for TDP/nTDP validation, Pmax, Turbo verification, and high-speed I/O stress (UPI, DDR, PCIe/CXL).
- Fine-tune register settings, optimize data paths, and perform telemetry analysis.
- Perform platform-level debugging to identify root causes of power and thermal failures.
Requirements
Key requirements and desirable skills. The first group lists must-have qualifications; the second lists preferred skills.
-
Must-have: 6+ years of experience in hardware validation/test development and software development; proficiency in C/C++ and Python; multithreaded software development and debugging; hardware/software debug and validation skills; experience with power, thermal, performance, and telemetry domains; strong collaboration across architecture, platform, validation, and customer enablement teams; advanced English proficiency; unrestricted, permanent right to work in Mexico.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with x86 assembly debugging; knowledge of Intel Xeon platform and Un-Core architecture; understanding of Linux and Windows internals and drivers; experience with Xeon performance monitoring tools and hardware instrumentation; familiarity with customer power/thermal validation methodologies and debug workflows.
Education Requirements
