Systems Software Engineer, SoC Firmware
Role Summary
Develop and maintain low-level SoC firmware and platform trust components used by FuriosaAI accelerator platforms. The role focuses on ROM and early initialization, trusted firmware, secure boot, firmware update, and collaboration with hardware teams for bring-up and validation.
Position is on the System Software team supporting SoC enablement and silicon validation.

Responsibilities
Deliver and support early-stage system software and coordinate closely with hardware and validation teams.
- Develop and maintain ROM code and early system initialization software.
- Port and customize Arm Trusted Firmware (TF-A / TF-M).
- Implement Secure Boot, firmware update mechanisms, and root-of-trust components.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers on SoC bring-up, low-level debugging, and silicon validation.
- Design system-level software with attention to performance, reliability, and security.
Requirements
Core technical requirements and preferred qualifications.
Must-have:
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
- In-depth understanding of ROM code, bootloaders, and early boot flows.
- Knowledge of ARMv8-A/M architecture, MMU, cache subsystem, and low-level system behavior.
- Experience with JTAG, Lauterbach, serial consoles, and related debugging tools.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience contributing to TF-A / TF-M upstream.
- Hands-on experience with Secure Boot, provisioning, and device security.
- Experience with SoC bring-up on first silicon or FPGA prototypes.
- Rust-based embedded firmware development experience.
