Systems Software Engineer, Power, Performance, and Thermal (PPT)
FuriosaAIJob Title
Systems Software Engineer, Power, Performance, and Thermal (PPT)
Role Summary
Join the Power, Performance, and Thermal (PPT) engineering team to develop system software that controls power, performance, and thermal behavior for NPU SoCs. You will collaborate with architecture, hardware design, and software teams to deliver production-quality, power-efficient NPU solutions.
Experience Level
Open to all experience levels (early-career to experienced technical leaders); no specific years-of-experience requirement stated.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities focus on system software, power management, and driver development in an Embedded Linux environment for NPUs.
- Develop and maintain system software to manage power, performance, and thermal behavior on NPU SoCs.
- Design and implement DVFS and power-management policies and drivers using cpufreq, devfreq, and SCMI under Embedded Linux.
- Develop and optimize core subsystem drivers: Common Clock Framework (CCF), regulators, and thermal management drivers.
- Profile power and thermal characteristics during NPU workloads and construct/validate optimal OPP (Operating Performance Point) tables.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills are listed first; preferred skills follow.
- Must-have: Strong proficiency in C/C++ and AArch64 assembly.
- Must-have: Hands-on experience in Linux kernel and device driver development.
- Must-have: Deep understanding of SoC architecture, including clock trees and power-management mechanisms.
- Nice-to-have: Experience in chip/board bring-up and firmware development for mobile SoCs, NPUs, or GPUs.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with JTAG for debugging and testing.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with or interest in Rust for system programming.
- Nice-to-have: Proven ability to work at the hardware-software boundary and optimize system-level power/performance trade-offs.
Education Requirements
