Job Title
Systems Software Engineer - Infrastructure
Role Summary
Engineer and automate core infrastructure used by GPU firmware teams: build systems, CI/CD pipelines, test farms, developer tooling, artifact and release pipelines, and observability. Work on internal platforms and services that improve developer velocity and product quality.
Part of the GPU Firmware Infrastructure team; collaborate with firmware, hardware, and software engineers to design, implement, and scale tools and processes.
Experience Level
Mid-level β this role expects an experienced engineer (listed requirement: 5+ years of software, infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE engineering).
Responsibilities
Operate and improve the infrastructure and workflows that firmware teams rely on; automate manual processes and design scalable solutions.
- Build, own, and improve build systems, regression farms, CI/CD pipelines, developer tooling, and associated web services.
- Debug and resolve cross-domain issues across hardware, firmware, software, and infrastructure; design fixes that prevent classes of future failures.
- Create AI-assisted and automated workflows to scale productivity and reduce toil.
- Document, automate, and onboard processes, services, and tooling for internal teams.
- Deliver proofs-of-concept through production-quality, scalable systems.
Requirements
Core qualifications and skills required for success in this role.
- 5+ years of software, infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience with modern CI/CD and automated test frameworks (e.g., architecting and debugging pipelines; pytest or equivalent test orchestration).
- Experience or strong interest in device BIOS, firmware, or low-level embedded software and tooling for those engineers.
- Solid understanding of web services, REST APIs, and relational databases; experience with SQL and PostgreSQL.
- Strong Python skills and comfort working in Linux shell environments.
- Scalability-minded engineering: designing systems to operate at scale and reduce maintenance burden.
- Strong written and verbal communication, with ability to write clear requirements and design trade-offs; strong interpersonal skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with containers, orchestration, or infrastructure-as-code (Kubernetes, etc.).
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools and understanding their reliability boundaries.
- Open-source contributions, internal tools, or side projects demonstrating initiative.
- History of producing technical proposals, design docs, or architecture decisions that were adopted.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering β or equivalent practical experience.
