Systems Software Engineer — CPU Manageability Stack
Role Summary
Develop and maintain the manageability software stack and boot firmware for Tegra CPUs used in automotive, datacenter, and embedded platforms. Work spans embedded bare-metal development, Linux kernel and device driver work, and integration with server management protocols.
Role requires close collaboration with hardware architecture teams and cross-team partners to deliver reliable, high-performance system software for critical compute platforms.

Mid-level — requires 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Design, implement, and maintain manageability software components and boot firmware for Tegra CPUs.
- Perform embedded bare-metal development and integrate code with server management protocols and standards.
- Develop, debug, and maintain Linux kernel code and device drivers.
- Collaborate with hardware architecture teams to identify improvements that increase performance across generations.
- Prepare technical documentation and communicate design decisions to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Strong proficiency in C and Python.
- Detailed, extensive experience with Linux kernel development and low-level system software.
- Solid understanding of multicore hardware, concurrency, virtual memory, caching, interrupts, and device drivers.
- Experience with real-time programming and operating system builds.
- Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
- Motivation to improve development processes and tools; familiarity or interest in applying AI tools to productivity is expected.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with server management protocols such as IPMI, MCTP, and PLDM.
- Experience analyzing, debugging, and tuning performance of complex system software stacks.
- Knowledge of OpenBMC and virtualization platforms (KVM, QEMU).
- Experience using AI coding tools (for example, Codex) or building agentic automation tools.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. The posting also indicates 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
