Systems Product Engineer
Role Summary
The Systems Product Engineer provides advanced field and product support for complex system products, coordinating between Field Service Engineers (FSE), Product Engineering (PE), and R&D to resolve customer system issues and improve field procedures. The role is part of a small, high-energy team focused on reliability and quality of mission-critical systems.
Experience Level
Mid-level β typically requires 3+ years of relevant experience in Product Implementation or Systems Product Engineering.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities combine customer-facing troubleshooting and internal engineering support to close field issues and improve product deployment.
- Provide second-line support for Field Service Engineers; assist with issues not resolved at FSE level.
- Deliver remote customer support using tools such as Zoom and Teams; provide real-time support aligned to supported time zones.
- Analyze system logs and diagnostics to help troubleshoot hardware, network, and system configuration problems.
- Create and provide scripts, tools, and procedures for field teams; manage release of updated procedures to the field.
- Summarize and convert field issues into engineering problem sets for PE and R&D; prioritize field issues for resolution.
- Evaluate proposed PE/R&D solutions and develop implementation procedures for field deployment.
Requirements
Key must-have skills and experience; a short list of highly desirable skills follows.
- 3+ years experience in Product Implementation or Systems Product Engineering.
- Position will be located in Asia; candidate must be based in Asia.
- Experience debugging network hardware and configuration issues.
- Experience with high-density optical and network test processes and with Hot Swap products (electrical, power, optical, liquid-cooling backplanes).
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and familiar with Linux (admin/tools/scripts).
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with optical circuits.
- Product engineering experience with systems/boards containing ASICs, DDR3/4, USB, I2C, SERDES, Ethernet, Optics, PCIe, and board management controllers.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, test flows, and new product introduction.
- Familiarity with HVAC and customer lab environment requirements.
- Experience using Microsoft PowerBI and ServiceMax.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering is required.
